How to Compress a PDF to a Custom Size

Choose a PDF, select Custom KB, and enter the target size. CBNEXA accepts a minimum target of 10 KB. The tool first performs a fast browser-side cleanup and then gives you the result for download. Very image-heavy or scanned PDFs may need a larger target because removing too much data can make the document unreadable.

How to Get a PDF Under 100 KB

For forms, text documents and simple scans, try 50–100 KB first. If the PDF contains photographs or many scanned pages, use a larger target and check the downloaded file before submitting it to a portal. Keeping text readable is more useful than forcing every document to an extremely small size.

Photo Compression Tips

For online forms, start with the required dimensions and then reduce JPEG quality gradually. Avoid repeatedly converting the same image because each lossy JPEG conversion can reduce clarity. PNG is useful for screenshots and graphics with text, while JPEG is usually smaller for photographs.

PDF Compression Tips for Government Forms

Check the destination website's exact file-size and page requirements before compressing. If a portal asks for a maximum size, choose a target comfortably below that limit and keep the original PDF as a backup. Always open the compressed file once to confirm that every page, signature and important field is visible.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can every PDF be reduced to 10 KB?

No. A 10 KB target is technically possible for some very simple PDFs, but a PDF containing photographs, scans or many pages can require substantially more data. The correct target depends on the document.

Are my files uploaded?

CBNEXA's browser-based tools are designed to process supported files locally where possible. Your browser may still load third-party libraries required by a tool. Review the Privacy Policy and the individual tool behavior before using sensitive documents.

What should I do if the target is not reached?

Try a larger target, simplify the source document, or reduce image dimensions before creating the PDF. Forcing an extremely small size can damage readability.
